Does the iPhone 15 break easily? What you really need to know

by Amelia Ramiro

The release of the iPhone 15 series has been met with a growing list of controversies and concerns. First, there were reports of overheating issues, and now a popular YouTube channel, JerryRigEverthing, suggests that at least one of the new models can break easily. This has led to questions about whether Apple has released inferior iPhones.

In a video, Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverthing tested the durability of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. He praised the phone’s Ceramic Shield, which was scratch-resistant, but things went downhill when he attempted to bend the device. The back glass shattered easily, surprising Nelson as iPhones are generally known for their durability.

This test has caused uproar online, with many questioning the durability of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, it’s important to note that this is the only test of its kind available online. Other articles discussing the phone’s fragility all refer back to Nelson’s test. Additionally, the other three models in the iPhone 15 series passed the durability test, suggesting it may be an issue specific to the Pro Max version.

As an iPhone 15 Pro Max owner, I am not personally worried about this issue. Firstly, most people would never intentionally try to damage their phone in this way. Secondly, using a protective case can prevent accidental damage from drops and scratches. For regular users who take care of their devices and use a case, this test should not be a cause for concern.

It is likely that Apple will take these findings seriously and aim for better results with future iPhone models. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will likely undergo rigorous tests to avoid any embarrassment similar to this controversy. Ultimately, it’s important to remember that the results of one durability test should not overshadow the overall quality and performance of the new iPhone 15 series.
