GravaStar Delta35: Quirky Design Meets Functionality in a Fast Charger

GravaStar, a small company known for its unique speaker designs and desktop power adapters, has released its latest product—the Delta35 GaN Fast Charger. Combining fun and functionality, this 35-watt power adapter stands out with its quirky robot-like appearance.

At first glance, the Delta35 looks like a little robot, complete with LED lights that serve as eyes and glow when the adapter is in use. The charger features two USB-C ports at the top, fold-up prongs for easy charging, and two ball-jointed arms and antennae that can be repositioned and moved around. While these design elements may not serve a practical purpose, they add visual interest to the power adapter, making it a conversation starter at your desk.

The Delta35’s USB-C ports are conveniently located at the top of the adapter, making it ideal for use with a desktop power strip. However, it can still be used in a wall socket, although it may look a bit odd with the robot’s features positioned sideways. Despite its unique design, the Delta35 remains compact thanks to its Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, similar in size to an iPad charger. The fold-down prongs make it portable enough to carry in a bag for charging on the go.

In terms of charging capabilities, the Delta35 delivers a maximum of 35W, making it suitable for charging devices such as iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. However, it may not have enough capacity to simultaneously charge multiple devices at their maximum speeds. When two devices are plugged in, the power is split between them, with each port receiving 12W, resulting in slightly slower charging speeds. Nevertheless, it offers a practical solution for charging an iPhone and iPad on your desk throughout the day, without the need for rapid charging.

During testing, the Delta35 performed as expected, and its design was appreciated. However, it would have been even better if it delivered more power, especially for more powerful Mac devices. It is worth noting that GravaStar’s Delta35 is essentially the same as the 35W dual USB-C power adapter offered by Apple for the MacBook Air, but at a significantly lower price of $30, compared to Apple’s $59 price tag.

The Delta35 GaN Fast Charger is available for order on the GravaStar website in white and pink variants, with shipping starting on October 20. Overall, if you’re looking for a fast charger that adds a touch of fun and personality to your workspace, the Delta35 is worth considering.
