Nintendo Switch players will soon have even more reasons to celebrate this holiday season, as eight new courses are set to join the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game on 8th December. With the addition of these Wave 3 courses, a total of 24 out of the 48 courses in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will be available to play.

Among the new courses, players can look forward to exploring the playful and vibrant DS Peach Gardens, as well as experiencing the frosty and festive atmosphere of Merry Mountain. Merry Mountain is particularly noteworthy for its seasonal sights and sounds, as players race through the track’s snowy peaks and towering pines. Another exciting addition is the London Loop course, originally from the mobile game Mario Kart Tour, which offers colorful views of familiar landmarks.

The Wave 3 courses also include the Rock Cup and the Moon Cup, featuring classic courses from the Mario Kart series across various Nintendo platforms. Players can expect to race through iconic tracks from games such as the Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and Mario Kart Tour.

All eight Wave 3 courses can be enjoyed both locally and online. The Rock Cup includes courses such as Tour London Loop, GBA Boo Lake, 3DS Rock Rock Mountain, and Wii Maple Treeway. Meanwhile, the Moon Cup features Tour Berlin Byways, DS Peach Gardens, Merry Mountain, and 3DS Rainbow Road.

With the addition of Wave 3, half of the courses included in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will be playable. There are still 24 more courses set to be released next year, making for a total of 48 additional courses for players to enjoy. The current roster of playable courses already includes popular tracks from previous Mario Kart games, such as Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, DS Waluigi Pinball, and more.

To access the new courses, players can supercharge their Mario Kart 8 Deluxe experience with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass. Six separate waves, each consisting of eight courses, will be released by the end of 2023. Players with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership can enjoy all six waves at no extra cost. Alternatively, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass can be purchased separately in the Nintendo eShop.
