Pixel Watch 2 leak reveals a very welcome feature for fitness enthusiasts

It seems that Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 2 will be equipped with automatic workout tracking, a feature that was absent from the original Pixel Watch. A leaked product page from the Made by Google account showcases the design and features of the smartwatch, with one page specifically highlighting this new capability.

Unlike its predecessor, which required users to manually start a workout and rely on the Fitbit app to track it after the fact, the Pixel Watch 2 will automatically detect and track various activities. The watch will display a user interface that allows users to start or dismiss workout notifications, while providing real-time information such as heart rate zones and pacing.

This is a significant improvement over the original model, as many users found it inconvenient to rely on the Fitbit app for workout tracking. With the Pixel Watch 2, users can enjoy a seamless and more efficient workout experience without the need for additional apps or devices.

Other features mentioned in the leaked product pages include advanced sensors, emergency features, and a “24-hour battery with always-on display.” The improved battery life is a welcome upgrade from the original Pixel Watch, where battery drain was a common complaint among users. This boost in battery performance may be attributed to the rumored use of the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip.

Additionally, another leak reveals new features that will be introduced to the Pixel Buds Pro. These features include low latency audio, Bluetooth super wideband for clearer audio during calls, and a hearing wellness feature that monitors volume levels. However, the most interesting feature is Conversation Detection, which allows the earbuds to automatically detect when the user is speaking, pause the music, and activate transparency mode for better communication without the need to remove the earbuds.

While some of these features are not entirely groundbreaking and can be found on other premium wireless earbuds, it is encouraging to see Google stepping up its game in terms of its wearables and audio devices.

More details about the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro are expected to be revealed during Google’s Made by Google event on October 4.
