Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Rumored to Launch on January 18

Now that Samsung has unveiled its lineup of high-end smartphones for the year, attention has turned to the highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series. These next-generation phones from the South Korean tech giant are expected to be officially launched in the first quarter of 2024, but the exact date has remained a mystery. However, recent leaks suggest that this may no longer be the case.

Renowned tipster Ice Universe recently took to Chinese microblogging platform Weibo to reveal that Samsung could potentially release the Galaxy S24 series on January 18. While this date may not be set in stone, it is highly likely that Samsung will announce its flagship smartphone around that time. This rumor aligns with an earlier report pointing towards Samsung’s decision to launch the Galaxy S24 series earlier than usual in order to counter strong demand for the recently launched iPhone 15 series.

In terms of specifications, leaked information indicates that the Galaxy S24 series will feature the Exynos 2400 processor in Asia, Africa, and Europe, while Canada, China, and the US may receive the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version.

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are rumored to come with 12GB of RAM and options for either 256GB or 512GB of storage. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will likely sport a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, could feature a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

All smartphones in the Galaxy S24 lineup are expected to have QHD+ Super AMOLED screens with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. Battery-wise, the Galaxy S24 is said to house a 4,000mAh battery, the S24+ will be powered by a 4,900mAh battery, and the S24 Ultra will come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. As for charging speeds, Samsung will reportedly not be making any changes compared to their predecessors. Another interesting potential feature of these devices is two-way satellite connectivity, which could come in handy during emergency situations.

While these specifications should be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation from Samsung, they do provide exciting possibilities for the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. With a rumored launch date of January 18, 2024, fans of Samsung’s flagship smartphones won’t have to wait too long to find out the truth behind these leaks and see what the company has in store for its latest offerings.
