Twisted Tower: A Sinister Game Inspired by Willy Wonka and BioShock

Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory has always been a mysterious and somewhat sinister place, but a new game called Twisted Tower is taking that concept to a whole new level. Revealed at the Realms Deep showcase, Twisted Tower aims to blend BioShock’s iconic 1920s art deco setting with the eerie world of Roald Dahl’s novel, creating an experience that swaps confectionery for toys and a disturbingly deadly game show.

The premise of Twisted Tower revolves around the protagonist, Tiny, who willingly enters the ominous Twisted Tower. It’s unclear why anyone in their right mind would choose to enter such a place, but Tiny is determined to take on the challenge. Devastated by his crush getting engaged to his school bully, Tiny believes that winning the grand $10,000,000 prize in toymaker Mr. Twister’s game will somehow turn his romantic fortunes around.

Securing a spot in the game, however, is no easy feat. Only 13 velvet tickets are available, and it’s safe to assume that there will be an abundance of bloodshed along the way. Twisted Tower promises an intense first-person shooter experience filled with deadly traps, locked doors, and frightening enemies inspired by children’s shows. As players navigate through the tower, they will unravel both its mystery and Tiny’s dark and twisted past.

Twisted Tower is developed by Thomas Brush’s studio, Atmos Games. Brush’s previous Kickstarter successes, such as Neversong (the sequel to the Flash game Coma) and Pinstripe, have garnered positive reviews and surpassed their initial funding goals. With both of these games sitting at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, there is reason to be optimistic about what Twisted Tower has in store.

As someone who is a fan of BioShock and its atmospheric world, I am particularly excited about Twisted Tower. However, I must admit that the trailer featuring numerous clowns has already triggered a sense of unease. Nevertheless, the intriguing combination of Willy Wonka’s twisted fantasy and BioShock’s immersive setting is bound to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience.

If you dare to venture into the sinister world of Twisted Tower, be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. Will Tiny be able to overcome the deadly obstacles and claim the grand prize, or will the tower consume him, revealing the dark secrets of his past? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – Twisted Tower is poised to take players on a thrilling and twisted journey unlike anything they’ve experienced before.
